We were still waiting to see what news from our last remaining friend. But cancelling Easter was really the last straw for me.

Bureaucratic schedule traditions do NOT supersede the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Your conference can wait a week! Might as well just put up some plastic bunnies and call it Secular Day. Which is what we did, since we still hadn't decided what type of church we were going to start attending and we were in an unfamiliar town. We spent the rest of the day in prayer and packing and life ended up taking some very strange twists and turns after that...
