Foreshadowing again...this rental appears to have been necessary for a time to restart our lives, and it is much easier now to get apartments to accept us - if we could afford a deposit! - but it's been a bumpy ride. We were lied to by the "good guy" and have found ourselves in an expensive and difficult situation that we can at least get out of after only six months, but meanwhile it has drained our finances and we are breadcrumbing along. Without donations, we will be abandoning what little furniture we have bought for the current place and just living on the streets in the van, which will put us right back where we were with regard to not looking good to potential landlords. My credit score has improved, at least, and we have had this time of respite to learn and grow and feel safety at the Shrine. But we haven't found the supportive parish or community of friends that we hoped for, so wherever we move, even if it isn't too far, we hope for better and kinder days ahead.
